Alanis Siffert returns to Roth after strong performance
Last year's third-place finisher dominated the race from the front and plans to attack again in 2026
Alanis Siffert from Switzerland, one of last year's most impressive athletes, is returning to DATEV Challenge Roth. The Swiss athlete finished third in 2025, but attracted a lot of attention with a bold performance that went far beyond the result. On 5 July 2026, she wants to set the pace again and play a central role in the women's field.
The 24-year-old dominated the start of last year's race and already made a clear statement in the swim. With a time of 52:31 minutes, she achieved the fastest swim time of all women at DATEV Challenge Roth 2025. She also led the race for long stretches on the bike. It was only in the second half of the cycling stage that she was caught up by the eventual winner Laura Philipp, but she kept up the high pace for a long time and impressively proved that she is competitive on the biggest stage of long-distance triathlon.
Looking ahead to her return to Roth, Siffert sums up her goals as follows:
"I'm coming to Roth to race from the front and embrace the atmosphere. After leading the race last year, I'm ready to take risks to stay in the fight for a top result. Being able to count on thousands of fans to push me all the way and bring out the best version of me makes it even more special."
The unique atmosphere along the course in particular left a lasting impression on the Swiss athlete. For her, Roth is a race where emotions, effort and the crowd are inextricably linked.
“Roth is a race where the atmosphere and the course naturally bring a smile to my face. The emotions and the effort are shared with the crowd and between the athletes, and that connection is pure magic. it’s something I really want to soak in and fully enjoy on race day.”
Her return to Roth promises another strong and fast race from the start, which fans can look forward to.
