World Champion Jan Frodeno is back
DATEV Challenge Roth race week with Frodo
Jan Frodeno is back in Roth. The world champion and world record holder won’t be racing DATEV Challenge Roth as an individual but still wants to be part of the event and who knows who you may see out on course in a relay team! From 7-10 July "Frodo" will be in triathlon-mad Roth at several events including the BAYERN3 parties in Roth and Heideck, the Challenge Women Fun Run and the Volunteer Party. Age group athletes can also check out the new run course with him on his “Morning Run”. On race day (9th July), Jan Frodeno will commentate from the course and also on the live stream, and he will be at the finish line to hand out as many medals as possible.
This task is particularly important to the best triathlete in the world. Frodeno remembers his own finish a year ago on the same finish line as he completed the ultimate race in 7:35:39, breaking the world record of 7:41:33, held since 2011 by Andreas Raelert. A year later, he is back at the place of his big triumph, if only as a spectator. “My sporting focus this year meant I couldn’t integrate Roth into my race plans, although the race was undoubtedly a highlight of my career last year. For me it is a matter of the heart to come back to the triathlon mecca and experience DATEV Challenge Roth once again. Roth is simply one-of-a-kind. I am very happy that I can experience and enjoy the incredible atmosphere of race week without any sporting pressure."
Opportunities to meet world record holder, Jan Frodeno in Roth will be published on the DATEV Challenge Roth web site and social media channels. The invitation to all athletes for the “Morning Run with Frodo” will be posted on Facebook.
