Watch the race at home

Challenge managing director, Kathrin Walchshöfer-Helneder, who has a long relationship with BR, is delighted and appeals to fans to make this most of this honour of such extensive live reporting.

“We ask all sports fans not to gather on the course in Roth this year and instead invite you to watch the race from the comfort of your home. This not only helps us as organisers, but also sets an example for other large triathlon and sports events in Germany, that, like us, are doing everything to ensure that events are as safe as possible.”

“Roth is a home game for us and close to our hearts: These difficult times need to include reliability, which is why we will of course also be at the start in 2021. Our long-distance premiere in 2019 with a TV marathon was a great experience for us. We are all the more pleased to show the fans first-class sport from the Franconian Home of Triathlon this year, combined with interesting stories from the district, ”says Christoph Netzel, Head of Sports at Bayerischer Rundfunk. "If you can't go on the course, you've come to the right place: We will deliver the live experience to your living room for many hours with no audience restrictions."

As it stands, the race will take place on 5 September with an extensive hygiene concept that exceeds the required regulations. The prerequisite for admission to the Triathlon Park and participation in the event is the so-called "Three G Rule" (geimpft, getestet, genesen /vaccinated, tested, recovered) plus FFP2 / KN95 mask requirements and social distancing apply throughout the event site. There are no hotspots along the course this year and side events have either been cancelled or are taking place online.
