Roth to host German Triathlon Championships 2020

DATEV Challenge Roth 2020 is the venue for the DTU German Long Distance Triathlon Championships. On 5 July, all German professional and age-group athletes will compete for the German crown over the 3.8km swim, 180km bike and 42.2km run.

"The German Championships are always something special," explains Felix Walchshöfer, managing director of TEAMCHALLENGE. "DTU's decision to return the German Championships to Roth is great recognition for the work being done by the 7,500 volunteers and the entire county around the race."

German athletes already registered for DATEV Challenge Roth 2020 will automatically be entered into the Championships. There is also a special DTU allocation for the Championships for this long sold-out event. Details on how these 100 start spots are to be allocated will be announced by the Association shortly.

"Challenge Roth has legendary status in the world of triathlon. The organization by the Walchshöfer family and their team and the thousands of volunteers could not be better. So we are thrilled the German Long Distance Championships will be at the triathlon Mecca next year," said Matthias Zöll, DTU Secretary General.

Roth has already hosted the ultimate event for German triathletes in 2004 to 2019 and again in 2013 to 2015. In 2012, the 11th Challenge Roth hosted the official ETU European Triathlon Championships.
