Hundreds of athletes at the “blueseventy- swim training” and at the “COMPRESSPORT Morning Run”

The clock on the church tower in Heuberg just struck half past six. Usually this is a quiet time at the Main-Donau-Canal. But on this Friday, before Sunday's DATEV Challenge Roth, nothing is as usual. The Canal is blocked for boats, lifeguards are present and the water is free for all those, who wish to train on the original race course even before the big race. And there are many who want to do just that. Whole groups arrive by bus and also many local athletes show up. Changing Zone I is already crowded by hundreds of athletes. Many brought their own wetsuits, but there are also many who try on the latest models by the brand “blueseventy”, which has a booth at the swim start. Some hard-boiled athletes wear nothing but swimming trunks when they get into the waters of the Main-Donau-Canal, which are at 20 degrees.

The scene gives a good preview of what the atmosphere is going to be like on Sunday! Red Bull's DJ-Truck provides the right beats to get the athletes going at this early hour. Even when a drizzling rain sets in, the mood stays great.

Just follow Alicia Kaye! Some of the top pro athletes joined the “COMPRESSPORT Morning Run.

Without any rain and with an atmosphere just as great, the professional athletes Kaisa Sali and Alicia Kaye host the relaxed “Morning Run”, which leads along the Canal for 5 to 6 kilometers. After just 1k, the runners get back to the “new old course”. After the changes made last year, the course along the Canal is now again part of the running course and offers great conditions for the athletes.

For the first 100 participants in the “Morning Run”, the sponsor COMPRESSPORT provided a pair of Pro Racing socks. So it was worth getting up so early!

By the way: On Saturday morning between 6:30 AM and 9 AM the Canal will again be blocked for boats and free for swimming practise.
