700 euros raised for sick youngsters in Northern Bavaria

The volunteers on the Eckersmühlen aid station at DATEV Challenge Roth 2019 not only looked after the athletes, but also looked after the spectators, selling food and drink. All the money raised (617 euros) was donated to the “Tigerauge” Children's Hospice in Erlangen. The sum was rounded up by TEAMCHALLENGE to 700 euros. The cheque was handed over in February 2020.

“What our volunteers do over and over again is incredible. I cannot thank them enough for their efforts, ”said Alice Walchshöfer, managing director of TEAMCHALLENGE.

Roth paediatrician, Dr Ronny Jung, gratefully received the cheque as vice president of the hospice.

"Thanks also to Pizzeria Taormina and to taxi company Endres, who helped us with donations," explained Jürgen Weiß, head of the aid station. "We will continue to sell as much as possible in 2020 and raise funds for a good cause," added Kevin Weidmann, Eckersmühlen aid station manager.

The “Tigerauge” initiative supports terminally ill children, adolescents and young adults in their final weeks, as well as supporting their families. It aims to raise enough funds to fully support the children's hospice work and palliative care in Northern Bavaria, including Erlangen-Fürth-Nuremberg.
