It is one of the oldest Hot Spot on the bike course. Right at the crossing (the athletes turn left two times in the direction of Wallesau and right in the direction of the bike-run-transition) the athletes will be welcomed by name while the spectators receive the latest information of the race. The team of the local sports clubs will offer music and entertainment with grilled sausages, cool drinks as well as coffee and cake in the beer garden. Powered by N-Ergie you can charge your phone at the information point.
The town of Heideck is once again part of the Challenge Family. The whole own will be on his feet, cheering on every athlete and carrying them through the streets. The “Hütten Hustler” from Heideck together with the Home and traffic association will provide the spectators with cool drinks and tasty food. Additional the Red Bull truck and a host will produce great atmosphere and update the fans with current race news. The one who know the people of Heideck know the Challenge feeling is alive here.
Gredinger Kalvarienberg has always had the reputation of the "hill of pain", even for the toughest triathletes, because of its extremely long, exhausting climb. It takes the last reserves out of even the most exceptional athletes. At this ‘game changer’ point of the bike course, TSV Greding has set up a hotspot which cheers the triathletes on from 8:00am until the early afternoon. Gredinger Sportfreunde and numerous guests line the bike course to give the athletes a boost. In addition, commentating duo Max Dorner and Benni Koch ensure the audience is always kept up-to-date with information about the race along with great music, great atmosphere and entertaining commentary. The Chinelos provide spirited samba rhythms which get under the skin and keep emotions high. TSV Greding waits for guests with delicious Schmankerln and white sausages on the BBQ along with drinks. Those with a sweet tooth will also get their money's worth with coffee and cake!
In Obermässing is one of the new hot spots. It is located right in the middle of the town, directly at the left bend of the main street, opposite of the local inn. The hot spot is organized by the Obermässing fire brigade and numerous volunteers. Spectators can take a seat at the beer benches and watch the race. There will also be barbecue, coffee and home-made cakes as well as cool drinks.
In Eysölden every single athlete will be cheered on, the last one as loud as the first. A memorable drive through will be guaranteed especially by the spectators, who can shout for their loved ones via microphone or with their favorite song. The fire department of Eysölden will provide information to help everyone to recognize the athletes. At the „Brezenmeile“ one will be adequately supplied with pretzels, Bavarian veal sausage, bratwurst, burgers, cake and CHALLENGE AMIS. The Pretzel Mile of the local bakery “Schmidtkunz“ itself participates with four relays.
On the Kränzleinsberg the fire department of Hofstetten and the presenters Jürgen Moosmann and Benny Seitz welcomes the athletes with great music. In a friendly atmosphere with grilled sausages, cool drinks, coffee and cake the spectators can cheer on the athletes right next to the course.
The highlight in Hilpoltstein is Solar Hill with its „La Ola del Solar“ Tour-de-France-Feeling. The heart is the stage on which host André Siems and Bernd-Uwe Gutknecht from Bayern 3 will heat up the hill by cheering and cool music. Major Markus Mahl and Sigi Tretbar together with the team of the city of Hilpoltstein will inform the spectators about race news while a big clock on the hill provide the race time. The juvenile drummers of Hilpoltstein will put the crowd in a great atmosphere and „carry the athletes up the hill“ with samba rythms. In addiction right next to the course the „Pyraser beer garden“ will care for you with great food and cool drinks. Further highlights will be the balloon contest for kids up to 12 years sponsored by the Pyraser Brewery as well as a bouncing castle by the Hilpoltstein fire department.
In addition, the mobile cocktail bar from Helmut Tempelmeier offers "cool" drinks and at the Hilpoltstein Booth you can get information and a race guide or buy the popular new Solarer Berg T-shirt. The Tobias Ullmann Bike Workshop from Hilpoltstein will also be there again with latest bikes and accessories on display.
One of the latest Hot Spots is Mörlach with the KLJB race course party by fans for fans. Organized by the local youth and the fire department of Mörlach you can cheer on the athletes while enjoying barbecue specialties and drinks as well as coffee and cake.
At Allersberger Straße in Hilpoltstein, near Buchstaller bike shop, the members of the Hilpoltstein bike club will provide the spectators with current race news, especially regarding local athletes. The stand of Café Grimm will offer many specialities.
The new Memmert hot spot at kilometres 0.6 and 41.4 of the Challenge running course offers every runner and also every spectator another highlight with an unique atmosphere. Memmert as a family business has been firmly connected with triathlon for years and is represented by four individual starters and eight relay teams. This is one of the reasons why the Memmertians are looking forward to welcoming the athletes to Roth for the first time this year and to giving them a boost of motivation at the beginning of the marathon as well as at the last meters of the race. This makes the Memmert Hot Spot a big highlight both at the beginning and at the end of the running course. In cooperation with Nutrichem diät+pharma GmbH and the sports nutrition supplier INKO GmbH, athletes and spectators are offered an unforgettable experience - a competition, great atmosphere and even deck chairs to cheer on the athletes in a relaxed atmosphere in the first row.
The Hot Spot organized by Team Klinikum Nürnberg e.V. is right in the heart of the run course with a great atmosphere and loud support. The spectators will experience a familiar flair with a lot of music and noise. Like last year there will be live music by the locally known band “Crimson”. Moreover, there will be current news, seats as well as food and drinks provided by a bistro and a bakery nearby. Whether right at the beginning of the marathon, while swinging forth and back between the landing stage and Roth’s inner city and Büchenbach as well as right before the last and most beautiful meters of the race: at this Hot Sport everyone is warmly welcomed!
With the mood nest at the company premises, Speck relies on a varied offer for young and old. At kilometer 3.7 and 25.5 the runners cross the trail through the premises of Speck in the industrial area „An der Lände“. The caterer Winkler from Alfershausen will spoil you in the beer garden next to the mileage with street food, self-made lemonade, ice cream from the Werzinger Hof and homemade cakes. Our little guests can test their sporting skills at different stations and have fun in the bouncy castle to their heart's content. Torsten Hahn, employee of Speck and several Challenge finisher provides us with the latest news about the event and fuels the atmosphere with the best pop and rock hits.
At the Lände Roth at “landing stage south” (Berchinger Street) the hot spot of Running Team Fürth is located. The athlete passes this point 3 times at kilometers 4, 12 and 24, where a DJ and a moderation-duo will heat up the place. The physical well-being will be insured. You get there by car via the landing stage Roth.
“Asphalt-Rock” will put the athletes but especially the spectators in a great mood. Although we will present homemade classic rock – live, earthy and very close. The Special: “Asphalt Rock” is an event-ad-on from athletes for athletes! The bandmembers are exclusive from competitive sport in Triathlon and running. They know for whom they are playing und what the athletes need. Keep on rockin.
Since 2013 the hot spot has been established at Gartenstrße in Roth. The athletes pass the “Intermediate Sprint at Kosta’s” behind the Greek restaurant two times. As of 1pm presenter Joe Güthlein will cheer on the runners together with enthusiastic fans towards Roth inner city and Büchenbach. They will not stop until the last runner has passed. There will be a refreshment and barbecue stand as well as good music.
Since 2010 the Sparkasse Mittelfranken-Süd transforms Kugelbühlplatz into a Hot Spot. Also presenter Alex Höhn and DJ Jens Klinger of the local carnival club provide a great atmosphere until late night. Core audience from all around the world comes to Kugelbühlplatz to cheer on the athletes on the front line to create an incomparable atmosphere.
In Roth’s center the spectators can expect a barnstorming and impressive ambience for the whole family. Here you can cheer on the athletes on their last meters to the finishline. A blue archway marks the entrance of the ERDINGER Alkoholfrei PowerZone, in which host Mike Hamel, DJane Lemongrass and the ERDINGER Alkoholfrei Cheerleader “Sweet Devils” will put the heat on the athletes, what they can enjoy twice at kilometer 31,4 and 39,5. Highlight will be the live broadcasting of the race on a big LED screen. At the Kids-Corner the little ones can have fun in a bouncy castle or being creative. Also for the corporal well-being will be provided: Franconian specialities and an ERDINGER is waiting for you!
At the end of Sandgasse close to Roth’s inner city and still directly in the green countryside a beautiful typical Bavarian beer garden will be put up directly at the riverside. Just a short walk from the market place along the run course direction Büchenbach you can find the club site of Spvgg Roth with its Hot Spot. All athletes cross a bridge above the beer garden. With cool food trucks (smoked pulled pork, pasta, and vegan) and cold drinks everyone can relax and cheer on the athletes on the front line from noon to the evening. A pavilion will offer protection from sun or rain. The Hardtseemafia together with the Schwabacher Goldmobil will provide a great atmosphere and support for every single athlete. This hot spot is especially suitable for families, offering activities for kids.
Again this year Red Bull is setting a Hot Spot at the run course. At the end of Büchenbacher Weg the Red Bull Event Car will give the athletes the necessary kick for their slightly hilly way to Büchenbach. On the way back the athletes will be guided by music and Marco Sommer’s moderation so they will head downtown in an excellent mood.
At hot spot #11 on the running track between Roth and Buechenbach the team from Skiclub Biberttal will welcome all athletes with food and drinks and a good atmosphere together with DJ Sigi.
This team is now in 2019 there for the 5th time with over 80 helping hands to serve the athletes.
The sports club Skiclub Biberttal with over 600 members supports all kind of out-door sport activities in the region like skiing, snowboarding, hiking, running, biking, swimming as well as mountain hiking. Many of our members start at various competitions as well and we have this year two teams starting at the DATEV-Challenge in Roth.
To be part of the DATEV-Challenge in Roth is hence the highlight of the season for all of us.

Departs 12am we will offer a lot of activities for kids: Starting from a bouncing castle, to a children’s train, street painting, an own entrance to the run course as well as a small vehicle fleetand a lot of toys. Moreover ice cream, tasty food and cool drinks will be served. Perfect for families with kids! The Hot Spot is supported by the Elementary, Middle and Montessori School Büchenbach, as well as the Protestant, Catholic and AWO Day Care Center. Moreover, the Chldren and Youth Office as well as the Child Care Center of Municipality Büchenbach will be present.
All good things come in threes! In 2019 (following 2017 and 2018) Büchenbach is looking forward to once again being part of the run course and hosting the athletes and multitude of spectators along Rother Straße. The Büchenbacher Weiherschleife around the village pond is another highlight from 12 noon when the first athletes arrive to cheers.
In addition, local clubs offer the world's best Langos from our partner community Németkér, Hungary along with cocktails, donuts, BBQs and coffee and cake. Our live DJ Mike Hotten and presenters Mehmet "Memo" Ülker and Steven Pawlowicz will give the athletes and spectators plenty of energy. The bars along Rother Straße are also a great place to watch the race from.
