Chris McCormack and Rebekah Keat are the winners of the second Challenge France in Niederbronn-Les-Bains. With a finishing time of 3:50:47 Chris McCormack left Olivier Marceau from Switzerland behind to finish second in 3:53:56 . "The weather conditions were very hard, the swim as well. But I felt good on the bike and run. I had been able to do some training on the race course for one week, and it would be great to take part in this wonderful event again next year", said Macca. Raynard Tyssink from South Africa was happy to finish third ( 3:56:28 ), although he currently suffers from asthma. "It was extremely important for me to see that I can still keep up with the tops in spite of my health problems. I am now looking forward even more to the competitions in Kraichgau and Roth".

In the women's competition the athletes did not stand a chance against Australian Rebekah Keat ( 4:27:11 ). "I have come here to win. The race was fantastic and the course was wonderful. I will definitely come back next year." Alexandra Louison from France finished second in 4:34:36 and Gina Ferguson from New Zealand came in third ( 4:34:40 ).   Race organizer Guy Hemmerlin was more than satisfied with the second edition of the Challenge France. "There have never been as many doping tests in a triathlon race in France as in this year's Challenge France . 12 tests were carried out among the 1150 athletes", said Hemmerlin.
