Race directors

Those who have already taken part in the CR can confirm that the event is perfectly organized. That’s why we have our 18 race directors, who give their very best for all participants every year together with more than 4,000 volunteers. Of course, we are trying to improve the organization every year in order to ensure a very special triathlon experience for each participant.

Race meeting

For the top athletes who are invited to join the press conference the race meeting takes place on Thursday at 10 am before the press conference.

There are several race meetings on Saturday. They take place at the pavilion as follows:

First we have the race meeting in French language at 11 am, and after that the race meeting in Spanish language at noon.

In the evening all German- and English-speaking athletes are invited to join the race meeting for the CR and the German Championship at the pavilion at 6 pm. Finally, at 7 pm we will have the race meeting for the relay teams.

Registration

As an individual starter you can simply come to the registration tent at the Triathlon Park during the opening hours of the registration office. There will be lists from which the start numbers are apparent (the start numbers are also available on the Internet shortly before the event). Please join the end of the queue that corresponds to your start number.

IMPORTANT

The start documents can only be collected personally and after having presented your ID card/passport for identification.

For relay teams there are two possibilities: If all three members of the relay team have signed the disclaimer and indemnification, it is sufficient for one member to collect the start documents. Of course, the relay member also requires his/her ID card/passport for identification.

In case one or more members of the relay team have not signed the disclaimer and indemnification, these members must come to the registration office together and collect the start documents. Since the documents for all three members of the relay team are packed in one bag, it is compulsory that they come to the registration office together!

Registration office

The registration office is located in the smaller one of the two tents behind the pond at the Triathlon Park. Its opening hours are as follows:

Day   Opening Hours
Thursday

noon to 06:00 pm

Friday

09:00 am to 09:00 pm

Saturday

09:00 am to 03:00 pm

You can take your start number from the list of starters that will be hung at the entrance. The start documents and the licences of the day are handed out at various counters according to the start numbers.

There are separate counters for relay teams as well as for French and Spanish starters.

At the registration office you can also obtain additional tickets for the carbo party for your family and friends at a price of € 15 each, but there are only a limited number of additional tickets.

Relay (looking for team members)

You would like to take part in the Challenge Roth in a relay team, or you have already found a relay partner, but the third athlete is still missing? Have a look at our relay exchange in the forum. Even (and in particular) a few days before the race almost everybody will find matching partners here.

Relay teams (changes)

If a member of a relay team drops out shortly before the event, the remaining members might be disappointed, but there’s no reason to panic. In this case, please observe the following:

1. Please let us know as soon as possible, preferably by e-mail in advance. A change in a relay registration will be effected free of charge until May 1 (last day of the application process), after that date we will have to charge € 15 for effecting a change.

2. If you have a replacement, please let us have a new application form (by fax and/or mail) signed by the new team member. For contact details please click here.

3. If you don’t have a replacement yet, you may find one in our relay exchange.

Run course

The marathon consists of a course with two turning marks (at kilometres 12 and 28), the Roth landing stage being a central point. The run course leads from the P+R parking lot in Roth along the canal towards the Leerstetten sluice gate to Schwand (turning mark 1). From there the course returns towards Haimpfarrich – Eckersmühlen – Eichelburg to the second turning mark and back to the finish-line at the Roth Triathlon Park. Apart from two short ascents, the course is flat and 70 % of the course is on solid forest roads, 30 % on asphalt.

Special hot spots for spectators are located at Haimpfarrich, the Roth landing stage, Leerstetten sluice gate, turning mark 1 in Schwand and canal bridge at Eckersmühlen-Eichelburg.
