The allocation of start numbers has been completed. The start numbers of all individual and relay participants are now apparent from the list of starters upon entry of the name. The competition starts at 6:30 a.m. with the swim of the first start group. The first group includes the top 50 men, top 20 women, all participants aged 65 and older, fast age-group athletes, all SUB 9 starters as well as the athletes who take part for the 25th time. The second start group (start at 6:40 a.m.) includes further fast age-group athletes, group 3 (6:45 a.m.) includes all other women. The remaining athletes will be divided into groups depending on their expected finishing time. Groups 4 to 13 will start from 7 a.m. at five-minute intervals. The relay starters will be in groups 14 and 15 (8:40 and 8:45 a.m.).
