Childcare on race day: Lots of fun with Bobby, the clown
|
|
| |
As a special service for the children of all athletes who take part in the QCR, we will again have a childcare programme, which is organized by the Ehlers-Danlos Initiative. From 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. children between 4 and 8 years will be looked after by well-trained staff (members of the Eckersmühlen community nursery) at the gym and garden of the Roth sports club (Otto-Schrimpff-Straße 4, besides the car park "Messe" and the entrance to the Triathlon Park) . You can be sure that the kids will have lots of fun. The little ones will be excited about the performance of Bobby, the clown and magician. And there will be a video corner as well as a triathlon drawing contest with fantastic prizes to win (sponsored by the Vedes Family Store in Roth). In addition, we will have face painting, summer skiing and many more attractions for the little ones, so that they certainly won't get bored. Each child will also receive a t-shirt sponsored by the local Wöhrl sports and clothing store as a gift. TEAMChallenge will provide free drinks for the children, but the parents are asked to provide their children with food.
In order to ensure that there are a sufficient number of staff members to look after the children, it will be necessary to sign in for the childcare programme by June 28, 2009 . The fees for the childcare programme will be EUR 4 per hour. The receipts of the programme will be donated to the German Ehlers-Danlos Initiative, an association that supports persons suffering from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and their families. EDS is a group of rare genetic disorders that affect the patients' connective tissue. Since there is connective tissue everywhere in a human body, the symptoms vary widely and may include unstable, flexible joints, hyperextensible skin that gets easily injured and even ruptures of organs and blood vessels. The Initiative will also give information on the disease at a stand at the Triathlon Expo and will appreciate donations.
In order to sign in for the childcare programme, please use this application form. |
