  Challenge Family Meeting in Roth

Representatives of all Challenge triathlon events around the world came together for a meeting at the TEAM Challenge office in Roth for the first time last Saturday. They used the opportunity to better get to know each other and to strengthen their feeling of togetherness. At the same there were intensive talks about the work of the individual organising teams, and decisions were taken on a large number of common measures for the Challenge competitions.

A new and consistent appearance, common marketing strategies, the use of synergies, for example as regards purchasing, and many other topics were on the agenda. The Challenge organisers also exchanged information as regards the status of organisation of the individual races of the 2009 season, starting with the Challenge Wanaka ( New Zealand ) on January 17, 2009 . On the whole there will be six competitions in the world-wide Challenge series in 2009 – apart from the Quelle Challenge Roth (July 12) and the above-mentioned Challenge Wanaka, there will be the Challenge Barcelona Costa de Maresme (half-distance), which will take place on May 24 for the first time, the Challenge France (half-distance) in Niederbronn-les-Bains on June 7, the new Challenge Kraichgau on June 14 and the Challenge Barcelona Costa de Maresme (long-distance), which will be the final event of the series on October 4.

Felix Walchshöfer, overall director and licensor of the world-wide Challenge series was very pleased about the results of the first Challenge family meeting, which now is to be held on a regular basis every six months. “We are all pulling in the same direction und have the same targets and ideas for the future of the world-wide Challenge series. This is what makes us so strong. We are going to act together in order to further develop the series in the next few years and to make it even more successful”.
